I have run a poker club in Arkansas for more than 3 years, and I have found that the closer you can get to a round table the better.

With an octagon, everyone can see the cards well, dealing is easier, and raking chips (winning a hand)

1, Ask the manager at your local casino where he was supplied. He may not want to tell you as he would prefer that you played at the casino. So, have a look at the manufacturers name address maybe stamped somewhere on the table.

    2,

I bought felt at the local fabric store. Do you have a JoAnn's or something in your area? If they don't have it in stock they can also order for you.

Taking notes at poker table provides big edge over opponents

    22.02.12

My previous column focused on the art of taking notes at the poker table. We listed valuable information that could help to move your opponents’ chips to your growing chip stacks.

We quoted Dr. Alan N. Schoonmaker, famed poker psychologist, on possible reasons why players do not take notes, to which I added my own explanation.

A Poker Life -- Dennis Phillips

22.02.12 Main event third-place finisher has used his $5.1 million in career tournament earnings wisely, investing in various businesses and company partnerships to ensure that he’ll never have to worry about money again.

More importantly, the 57-year-old is now in the enviable position that every poker player dreams of… being able to play for fun. Though he has proven over the last three years that he is no slouch at the tables, Phillips can rest assured that should his river bluff get picked off, he’ll still be able to put food on the table later that night (and every other night for the rest of his life, for that matter).
