Why do people place poker chips on top of their 2 dealt cards?
Dec 03, 2009 by batman | Posted in Gambling
Why do people place their poker chips on top of their 2 dealt cards? Like I see some people put maybe a stack of 5 chips on top of their 2 dealt cards after they've looked at them why?
The players will place chips on their cards so the dealer or another player may not accidental push or pull them into the muck (or the discarded cards). Some dealers may sweep the cards too quickly and accidental grab a live hand.

They are protecting their hand, in case someone throws their cards on top of their 2 cards. Or protecting them from the dealer grabbing them and putting them in the muck (this happens to people sitting in the seats right next to the dealer more often

how can there be 2 cards of the same number and same suit in 5 cards dealt in poker?
Feb 16, 2009 by Nosey | Posted in Video & Online Games
For an example the five cards dealt to me are:
2 of hearts, 5 of spades, jack of spades, 5 of spades, king of clubs
Note two 5 of spades in one hand. Not possible in real poker is it?
It of course depends on how many decks are used.
In most games where there is only one deck it is impossible with a valid/proper deck, I would be looking closely at the game and its rules for more info and then following up with the website/organiser

I have 2 questions regarding online poker?
Jul 07, 2009 by Andre E | Posted in Gambling
1. If it is illegal like some people claim, would all the professional we see on tv continue to play and take the chance of being caught?
2. Is Doyles online poker room based in the US? or outside?
Thanks in advance.
1. That's because it isn't illegal.
2. Not based in the US.
