    are there general rules for blackjack? i know the dealer hits on 16 stays on 17, but what about the cards they have showing? can you use that as a guide when to hit and stay? and what about double down and split? THANX

    The basic rule is don't get over 21.

    If you get 21 you have win.

    One of the persons cards is face down, so you don't know if they're over 21 or not.

    I know that if the dealer has an ace showing then he looks after offering insurance... my question is: does the dealer look at their hole card if they have a facecard showing? Do they flip it over if they have 21 and everyone loses or does the table

    Yes he can looks, in Blackjack everyone is actually playing against the dealer so he must have this sleight advantage. Also the dealer must know his total because he is required to stay or take a card at given totals.

    Smaller casinos get a year to comply with new security rules

    The South Dakota Commission on Gaming on Wednesday approved rule changes regulating the $1,000 bet limit passed by the Legislature in February, but not before addressing industry concerns about implementing more stringent security requirements.

    The draft rules originally called for all casinos to keep surveillance images for 14 days, an increase from the current seven days, to make it easier to catch cheaters.
